- Successfully complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSS) with an emphasis on sciences and math.
- Enroll in a two-year paramedic training program at a community college.
- Successfully complete the provincial paramedic exam.
- Secure a job with an ambulance service and take further training for defibrillation and symptomatic relief medications.
- Compete against other paramedics for advanced training.
